Komatsu announces roll out of new Tier 4 Final-compliant crawler dozer

Equipment manufacturer Komatsu has released details of its latest Tier 4 Final-compliant off-road vehicle. The D155AX-8 dozer model was introduced at the CONEXPO trade show event which took place in Las Vegas on 4-8 March 2014, and is now on sale.

The Komatsu D155AX-8 engines are equipped with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and require the use of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) to reduce NOx emissions. The equipment manufacturer continues to use a Komatsu Variable Geometry Turbocharger (KVGT) and an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve.

The Tier 4 Final emissions standard for off-highway vehicles came into effect on 1 January 2014 and requires emissions of NOx and Particulate Matter (PM) to be reduced by approximately 90%.
