Pilot Flying J to invest $165 million in expansion of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) pump network

Niels Tholen - 19 March 2013

Pilot Flying J has announced a further $165 million investment in the expansion of its Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) pump network.

The company started offering DEF at the pump in 2009 and currently offers the service at 3,000 fuel lanes at 400 locations in 42 U.S. states and four Canadian provinces. The investment will be used to install a DEF pump at every diesel lane by fall 2013.

Pilot Flying J President Mark Hazelwood said: "Drivers were stopping to refuel and then having to come inside to purchase gallons of DEF and carry them back out to their trucks to fill up their DEF tanks. Investing in DEF at the pump has been a direct investment in the quality of life for our professional driver customer. By the fall of 2013, professional drivers will enjoy the convenience of DEF at the pump at any and every Pilot Flying J diesel lane."
