DEF Tracker: Marginal bulk DEF price decreases reported in November

Christopher Goodfellow - 7 December 2012

Falling raw material costs led to decreases in tote refills and truck stop pump Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) pricing in November, according to DEF Tracker.

Monica Baker, Research Manager at Integer Research, which publishes DEF Tracker, said: "The downward trend in the price of urea, the main component of DEF, fed through to end-users in November, with bulk pricing falling in most references and bulk supply formats."

Bulk DEF dispensing facilities were added to a total of 68 truck stop locations in November. The growth of the truck stop network in Canada accelerated, with four new locations coming online in November, and four truck stop brands now offer bulk DEF at the pump in country; Irving Oil, Husky Travel Centre, Petro Pass and Pilot Flying J.

DEF Tracker added pricing references for Calgary, AB, in November, and plans to add Charlotte, NC, in the December edition. Other areas covered by DEF Tracker include; Baltimore, MD, Houston, TX, Los Angeles, CA, New York, NY, Cincinnati, OH, Chicago, IL, Tampa, FL, Baltimore, MD, Portland, OR, Toronto, ON, and Montreal, QC.
