Hitachi announces Tier IV Final compliant excavator

Ben Treadwell - 20 August 2015

Hitachi Construction Machinery has announced its new EPA Tier IV Final compliant Dash-6 excavator this week. The upgraded ZX470LC-6 features an Izuzu engine which meets the rigid emissions standards using exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). The new engine is designed to be simple and efficient and features an improved piston design which allows particulate matter to be burned in cylinder, negating the need for a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).

Mark Wall, excavator product marketing manager of Hitachi Construction Machinery has stated "The updates made to this excavator are designed to help increase the efficiency, reliability and durability of the machine." Additional features include new convenient handrails that provide easy engine access, a battery disconnect switch, and easy to check sight gages and fluid reservoirs.
