Wakefield Canada sells Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) business to Recochem

Rebecca Hayward - 30 July 2015

In July, Recochem announced that it would acquire Wakefield Canada's Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) related assets in a deal that is due to close in August.

According to Recochem, it will integrate the Wakefield assets, including the H2Blu brand, blending capabilities, trucks, trailers and tanks with its existing Blue Network infrastructure in Canada.

Wakefield's founder, Bob MacDonald told Today's Trucking, "We are pleased with the progress we made in creating a brand and growing it to be a significant player in a new category. That said, Wakefield has significant opportunities in our core Lubricants business, and this exit will allow us to more effectively focus on them. We are confident that Recochem, with its years of experience and commitment to outstanding quality and customer service, will continue to build on the success they have had with the Diesel Exhaust Fluid business."

Wakefield Canada is a privately owned company that markets, distributes and manufactures products for the automotive and heavy-duty vehicle marketplace including Castrol motor oil.

Recochem is a producer, trader, formulator, contract packager and wholesaler of chemical products and is also a privately owned Canadian company.
