In June 2015, U.S. bulk DEF prices weakened to their lowest recorded level in 2015. On average, prices recorded a $0.04/G reduction in June compared to prices at the beginning of the year in January.
The pace of decline in June was diverse according to supply mode. On the one hand, U.S. tote refill prices fell by 0.02/G in June because price movements for this supply mode are commonly confined to a narrow band. On the other hand, U.S. FTL prices recorded a sharp $0.11/G reduction because prices tend to be comparatively volatile. LTL prices reduced by $0.04/G month-on-month in June which is in line with typical price fluctuations for this supply mode.
In the U.S., average 2.5 gallon jug prices decreased by $0.02/G month-on-month, reversing the previous months' increasing trend. Conversely in Canada jug prices increased substantially by CA$0.23/L.
May average truckstop prices edged downwards by $0.01/G for the first time since November 2012. This level remained unchanged in June 2015 with truckstop prices resting at the new price level.
