EXCLUSIVE: discoverDEF releases off-highway Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) search function

Ben Treadwell - 17 July 2014

The discoverDEF website now includes a Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) off-highway section and allows users to use the Retail DEF Search to find locations that provide DEF to vehicles operating in the agricultural, mining, forestry and construction industries.  This new function already has over 200 listings across North America and will continue to expand and be updated as new locations come online.

The website now features an Off-Highway DEF tab on the homepage designed to educate users about DEF and its uses in the off-highway industry. This includes a guide to the latest developments in off-highway emissions legislation, and an overview of the alterations that have been made in the manufacturing of vehicles in order to meet the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards. The different off-highway vehicle power bands are also outlined, in line with the specific emissions standards that apply to the different types of vehicles, as well as implementation dates of these standards.

A new DEF handling guide specific to the off-highway market has also been produced for the industry. This outlines the required procedures to ensure that DEF is contaminate free and that proper requirements of storage and transport are met.

Integer Research has recently released the Focus Report: Emissions Control in Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM) markets, offering insight into the global off-highway sector. Integer Research operates discoverDEF.com.
