Yara opens new Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) terminals in California and Florida

Rebecca Hayward - 9 May 2014

Yara North America has announced that its new Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) terminals in Stockton, CA and Tampa, FL are now fully operational. The new sites bring Yara's North American DEF storage network to nine terminals.

The terminal in Stockton, CA has a storage capacity of approximately 1.4 million gallons of DEF and will serve Yara's Air1 branded DEF in the West Coast region. The Tampa, FL facility will do the same for the East Coast, and has a larger storage capacity of 1.7-1.8 million gallons. The company said that the Tampa terminal is the first of its kind in the state of Florida

"Bringing both Stockton and Tampa online at the same time signals a step change in our ability to provide safe and reliable supplies of quality DEF that trucks need to drive the economy," said Ed Wells, Vice President of Yara Environmental Solutions, Yara North America. "These two new storage facilities demonstrate our commitment to expand our supply chain network", he added.

The new deep-water terminal facilities add to Yara North America's existing DEF supply network, including recently added storage terminals in Houston, TX and Chesapeake, VA, and its DEF production and distribution facility in Belle Plaine, Canada.
