Chevrolet introduces its 2014 Cruze diesel passenger car

Niels Tholen - 22 April 2013

Chevrolet has introduced its 2014 Cruze diesel passenger car.

The Cruze has an Italian-designed 2.0 liter Turbo Diesel engine and uses Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) technology.

Similar diesel models are already available in Europe and Australia, however, it is the company's first for the U.S. and Canadian markets. With the launch of the 2014 Cruze diesel Chevrolet will join the diesel passenger car market, which is currently dominated by German passenger car manufacturers.

The Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank has a volume of 4.5 gallons, a size that will allow refills every 10,000 miles at oil change intervals, according to GM. The model is expected to be launched in summer 2013.
