Pilot Flying J recently installed bulk DEF pumps dispensing at the fuel island at its store in Manitoba, Canada. This is the first DEF pump for the province and the eighth for Canada: Pilot Flying J, a leader in the retail DEF market, operates seven out of eight.
The announcement reinforces a recent trend in the Canadian DEF industry. Irving Oil recently brought a pump online at its store in St. Liboire, QC, while Pilot Flying J installed the first DEF pump in Saskatchewan in July 2012. The price of DEF at the pump has not changed: the Manitoba store will charge CAD$0.799 per liter (or $3.05 per gallon) in line with the Canadian average, as reported by DEF Tracker on August 29. There are still no DEF pumps in the densely populated provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.
The Manitoba store is located in the town of Headingley, near Highway 1. It has seven bulk DEF lanes and eight diesel lanes.
