Oilmen’s Truck Tanks unveils dual DEF and lubricants delivery tank

Lucy Terry - 31 May 2012

Truck tank and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) equipment manufacturer Oilmen's has designed a new tank which allows the simultaneous delivery of bulk lubricants and DEF. The first compartment of the aluminium tank is lined with a substance approved for use with DEF, and product leaves the compartment solely through ISO 22241-3 compatible equipment, into an appropriate vessel for DEF such as a tote, bulk tank, or another vehicle.

In addition to the DEF unit, which includes a pumping system and special DEF hose, the multi-compartment tank contains systems for two sets of bulk lubricants, making it the first tank of its kind in the US.

Oilmen's has been testing the ISO-compatible lining for over a year and is offering it as an option on new aluminium tanks. The tank has a total cargo capacity of 4,500 gallons, 1,200 of which is dedicated to DEF.

Pennsylvania-based Craft Oil, a distributor of DEF and part of Mansfield's Delivery One network, took first delivery of this special truck tank, using a 2012 Freightliner M2 chassis.
