North American DEF pump network exceeds 350 locations

There are now 353 locations across North America with bulk Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) dispensing at the fuel island, all of which are listed on discoverDEF.com. This is an increase of 260 locations since January 2011 or well over 250%.

Texas continues to have the largest bulk pump infrastructure, at 40 equipped locations. Indiana, Illinois and Ohio all have over 15 locations each.

Locations stocking DEF at the pump are usually truck stops. Pilot Travel Centers dominates the market, followed by Love's Truck Stops and TA (Travel Centers of America). Pilot has 203 locations equipped with DEF at the fuel island, accounting for 58% of the on-the-road market.

There are four Canadian pumps on discoverDEF.com, all of which are operated by Pilot. The first was opened in October 2011.

The latest issue of Integer's DEF Tracker reported the average price of DEF at the pump to be $2.76 per gallon for the period of November-December 2011. This was three cent higher compared with the October-November reporting period.
