TravelCenters of
America has invested in combined diesel and Diesel Exhaust
Fluid (DEF) pump dispensers at the forecourt. Demand for new bulk
DEF installations and the strategic location of outlets led to the
decision to install the new 1+1 pumping systems at
Amarillo, TX and Hammond,
LA, according to a company spokesperson.
The pumping equipment, supplied by Gilbarco as part of their
Encore Diesel Exhaust Fluid range, allows users to refuel
diesel and DEF simultaneously, and pay for both products in the
same transaction. At the time of writing, DEF was selling at $3.07
per gallon at the Amarillo travel center, and at the Petro branded
location at Hammond, DEF was retailing at $2.83 per gallon.
TravelCenters of America now has seven locations equipped with
bulk DEF pumps, of which four can be found at Petro branded stopping
centers.
