A new by-law aimed at reducing the spread of diesel emissions in Vancouver will come into effect on January 1, 2012. The legislation is targeted at off-road machinery, and will require owners of older diesel-powered off-road machines to register each item.

Power Engineering magazine recognised several SCR-reduction projects at its 2011 Projects of the Year awards ceremony in Las Vegas, NV. The Plant Miller Flue Gas Desulfurization Project of Quinton, AL won the award for the Best Coal-Fired Project of 2011.

Truck stop operator TravelCenters of America plans to increase the number of truck stops offering bulk Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) at the pump, from 35 to 65 within the next few months, according to a statement from the company.

The average price of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) reached $2.73 per gallon in the U.S. in November, according to DEF Tracker. The price at the pump fell in 25, or 58%, of the 43 U.S.
