Pilot Flying J announced in November that it has reached an agreement with Bosselman for the purchase of seven Bosselman travel centres in Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota and Nebraska. The deal is scheduled to be completed by 5 January 2012, but, at the time of writing, neither company would confirm the price of the purchase.
The purchase follows a 2004 agreement between the two chains for the use of the Pilot trademark at several of the acquired locations. Pilot plans to add DEF pumps at some of the stops, as well as fast-food services and enhanced shower and restroom facilities.
As well as Pilot's acquisition, Bosselman's truck repair shops (Boss Truck Shops) will be opened at twenty additional Pilot Flying J travel centres across the nation.
