Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) manufacturer Yara has opened a terminal
in Convent, Louisiana, which will help support its DEF network.
The terminal, which will primarily service Yara's fertilizer
business, is based 60 miles up the Mississippi River from New
Orleans.
Bartolomeo Pescio, President of Yara North America, said: "The
establishment of a terminal in New Orleans, the primary import
gateway of North America, is an important milestone in our
distribution strategy and reaffirms our dedication to our customers
to serve as a reliable partner."
Yara began construction of the 55,000mt NOLA import fertilizer
terminal and warehouse in 2008. The terminal will be capable of
accommodating bulk carrier vessels up to Panamax size.
