EPA certifies retrofit device

Christopher Goodfellow - 26 August 2010

The Environmental Protection Agency has certified the BlueMAX 100 Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system from Nett Technologies as compliant with the 2010 emissions regulations.

The system, which uses Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), can be added to existing medium and heavy-duty engines to reduce emissions from pre-2010 model year vehicles.

A control algorithm is used to calculate the necessary Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) dosing rate on the basis of nitrogen oxide, engine mass air flow and temperature sensor, and it does not need any additional engine calibration.
